Education
required: An ETA certification and working knowledge assembling
Siecor UniCam SC and ST Fiber connectors or comparable systems,
including fiber optics testing procedures.
Responsibilities:
Fiber Optic
Telecommunications Technician/Engineer - Perform network moves,
adds, or changes of cooper cable (to include single pair, flat wire,
CAT5E, RG58, RG59, etc.) to support the customer's communication needs on classified and unclassified
Local Area Networks. Perform Installation of equipment cabinets,
ductwork, shelving units to support any customer equipment requirements.
Experience,
Skills and Background required:
A LAN Technician
must be a detailed–oriented professional with a minimum of four
years experience. A Cable Installers primary task is the
installation of fiber optic cabling and fiber connectors both ST and
SC on multi-mode fiber. Additional tasking associated with the
overall project will also be assigned as needed; to include the
installation and configuration of PC’s, monitors, MAUs, HUBs, and
routers as well as other task normally associated with network
installation.
Special
Requirements:
Must be a U.S.
citizen and must have a minimum of Top Secret/SCI clearance level.
The individual must have the ability to lift at least 50 pounds,
stand or be on ones feet for an extended period of time. The
candidate must have ability to climb ladders and work in enclosed
areas and work with small color-coded items in less then perfect
lighting. Additionally, the individual must be able to distinguish
between colors and see small details with vision correction, (when
required).
