UNIX System Administrator (SSET) (C661)

 

Reports to:  Program/Project Manager

 

Supervises: N/A

 

Education required: Master's Degree or 2 years experience, an additional three years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree.  A minimum of 10 years IT experience and industry certification is required.

 

Location:  Crystal City, VA

 

Responsibilities:

 

System Analyst/Administrator for Solaris 8 and 9 administration tasks. Effort shall include installing & activating operating systems, communications services, and user applications. Primary function is supporting the DODIIS Trusted Workstation (DTW) thin client environment, and Sun servers supporting Oracle databases. Incumbent must be expert in troubleshooting configuration and user issues on a Sun platform, especially when configured for thin client support. Hardware includes V880, V440 and V240's as well as Sunray 1G thin clients. Provide senior level knowledge/Tier 3 support for Sun and DTW. Experience with Oracle Database, Hitachi or EMC SANS would be a plus.

 

Experience, Skills and Background required:

 

10 - 15 years IT experience and industry certification is required.

 

Special Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen and must have a minimum of Top Secret/SCI clearance level.
