Education
required: A technical diploma
or Associates degree in drafting, Computer Science,
Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other
related scientific or technical discipline. This
position requires a minimum of six years experience, of
what at least three years must be specialized.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties; to accurately depict the configuration
of Department of State tested security construction
systems and designs. Engineering support related
to preparing narratives that present DOS R&D efforts.
These technical narratives are intended for distribution
to scientific, technical and/or security communities.
The individual must have knowledge of AutoCAD to
implement conduit layouts to support alarms, video
surveillance, building access control, emergency
notification/public address systems, vehicle and
personnel inspection equipment and barriers, etc. for
U.S. Embassies, consulates and implemented into new
office buildings, office renovations, additions to
existing structures or compounds, as well as temporary
security for constructions sites.
Must use a variety of
drafting tools including: AutoCAD, VISION, Intergraph,
Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office
Suite.
Experience,
Skills and Background required:
The individual must have interest, desire and ability to
communicate courteously and effectively with and provide
services to others, including the public, both in person
and by telephone. Good organizational skills;
familiarity with personal computers and appropriate
software with the ability to work under minimal
supervision. Ability to interact/communicate effectively
with customers and staff. Incumbent on occasions may be
required to wear protective gear, such as helmet and
goggles, when in a construction area.
Special
Requirements: Must be a U.S.
citizen and must have a minimum active top secret
clearance.
